MAITLAND, Fla. (November 10, 2020) – In honor and recognition of Veteran’s Day, the American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) is proud to announce it has donated $658,797 to nonprofits in support of America’s Veterans. Over 20 organizations received unrestricted donations to help provide job placement, healthcare, therapy programs, prosthetics, housing and food services, mental health assistance and direct support for veterans’ families.
Organizations such as Dive Pirates; Patriot Military Family Foundation; NineLine; K-9 for Camo; Next Op Vets; EOD Warrior Foundation; the Prosthetic Foundation and many others received donations from AmFund.
Each year, AmFund carefully chooses to support a wide range of organizations through sponsorship of events, year-end financial grant distribution, virtual silent auctions, and other programs. It provides educational support to nonprofits through webinars, podcasts, topical lecture series and one-on-one development to help enhance organizations’ fundraising abilities and goal setting objectives.
“We are deeply grateful to all our veterans for their service to our country. Our commitment to them is unwavering and is at the very root of why we support worthy nonprofits that provide exceptional services to the entire veteran community and their families,” said Deborah Marshall, SVP and Chief Operating Officer of AmFund. “We recognize the sacrifices that have been and continue to be made for our freedom.
“Veteran’s Day is an opportunity for us to salute all those that serve. It is also a time for us to honor AmFund’s founder, Wade West, who served as an Army Captain during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and Soldier’s Medal during his service. After he was wounded in combat, he conducted the nightly news briefings for the international media in Saigon and Cu Chi,” Marshall continued. “It was his vision that allowed AmFund to be established and make significant contributions to organizations throughout the United States. We are grateful that he along with his wife Barbara, continues to shepherd our organization as we expand our support of nonprofits.”
The American Fundraising Foundation, a GuideStar Platinum rated 501(c)3 nonprofit, has donated over 36 million dollars to other service-providing nonprofits over the course of the past 20 years and was recognized by NonProfit Pro as Fundraiser of the Year.

About the American Fundraising Foundation
Each year, the American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) carefully chooses organizations to support through sponsorship of events, year-end grant distribution of financial support, virtual silent auctions, and other programs to raise much-needed unrestricted funds for the important mission of those organizations.
AmFund is recognized with the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency and since 1999 has donated more than $36 million for worthy causes. Its signature silent auctions featuring once-in-a-lifetime experiences are presented at organizations’ special events, whether in person, virtual or hybrid events, drawing admiration, praise and excitement as the entire process elevates the event in the eyes of patrons, board members and the community.
Leveraging more than two decades of fundraising experience, AmFund also provides expert educational support and training on a wide variety of topics and offers subject matter expertise through its Speaker’s Bureau for groups ranging in size from 12 to 500. Additionally, AmFund annually distributes unrestricted grants known as their Golden Pear Awards, to select organizations.
The Golden Pear, prominently part of AmFund’s new logo, is deeply rooted in history as well as in its mission. Throughout history, even before the written word, the pear has been honored as a sacred fruit signifying wisdom, prosperity, good health, longevity, and future happiness – all the things Amfund seeks for its nonprofit partners.
