MEDIA ALERT - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MAITLAND, Fla. (October 12, 2021) – In honor and recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) is proud to announce it has donated over $1.8 Million to nonprofits in support of the fight against Breast Cancer. Over 42 organizations received unrestricted donations to help provide education, food service, transportation, hospitalization, comfort care, respite care for caregivers and other much needed assistance to those affected by breast cancer.
Organizations such as Play for Pink, Pink with Purpose, Gilda’s Club, East Alabama Medical Center, Florida Hospital, Cancer Family Care, Breast Cancer Support Services and Mon Health as well as many others received donations from AmFund.
Each year, AmFund carefully chooses to support a wide range of organizations through sponsorship of events, year-end financial grant distribution, virtual silent auctions, and other programs. Its support of organizations centered around breast cancer is one example of a health and human service category that relies on the unrestricted donations of AmFund to help achieve their important mission.
“We want to honor all those working to find a cure for breast cancer, and we want to make significant contributions to organizations that faithfully serve those that personally face the challenge of a diagnosis,” said Deborah Marshall, SVP and Chief Operating Officer of AmFund. “It is a privilege for AmFund to provide sustaining funds to organizations that support everything from the arts, literacy, the homeless and hungry, hospice, veterans and so many others with deeply important missions – and yes, this month we reflect on breast cancer. We welcome all organizations to set up an appointment to qualify by calling or visiting our website at www.AmFund.org”
The American Fundraising Foundation, a GuideStar Platinum rated 501(c)3 nonprofit, has donated over 38 million dollars to other service-providing nonprofits over the course of the past 20 years and was recognized by NonProfit Pro as Fundraiser of the Year.

AmFund is recognized with the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency and since 1999 has donated nearly $40 million for worthy causes. Its signature silent auctions featuring once-in-a-lifetime experiences are presented at organizations’ special events, whether in person, virtual or hybrid events, drawing admiration, praise and excitement as the entire process elevates the event in the eyes of patrons, board members and the community.
Leveraging more than two decades of fundraising experience, AmFund also provides expert educational support and training on a wide variety of topics and offers subject matter expertise through its Speaker’s Bureau for groups ranging in size from 12 to 500. Additionally, AmFund annually distributes unrestricted grants known as their Golden Pear Awards, to select organizations.
The Golden Pear, prominently part of AmFund’s new logo, is deeply rooted in history as well as in its mission.
