American Fundraising Foundation Gives

Special Recognition Donation to the Cure Bowl


MAITLAND, Fla. (October 26, 2023) – In a continued recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) is proud to announce an unrestricted gift of $5,000 to The Orlando Sports Foundation. The Orlando Sports Foundation has been a long-time partner of AmFund and plays a critically important role in the breast cancer research space.


Alan Gooch, Cure Bowl Executive Director and CEO of Orlando Sports Foundation reminds us that partnerships are so important as we “Bring teams together to find a cure for cancer”.


Each year, AmFund carefully chooses to support a wide range of organizations through sponsorship of events, year-end financial grant distribution, virtual silent auctions, and other fundraising programs. Its support of organizations centered around breast cancer is one example of a health and human service category that relies on the unrestricted donations of AmFund to help achieve their important mission.


“We want to honor all those working towards a world without breast cancer. Here in our own Orlando Community, we see the impact of this work firsthand.” said Deborah Marshall, SVP and Chief Operating Officer of AmFund. “It is a privilege for AmFund to provide sustaining funds to organizations that support everything from the arts, literacy, the homeless and hungry, hospice, veterans and so many others with deeply important missions – and yes, this month we reflect on breast cancer. Each year, AmFund approves and partners with over 700 organizations throughout the United States and provides unrestricted funds to support important causes ranging from the arts; veterans’ services; senior and youth programs; animal rescues and therapies; and humanitarian relief. Over the past 24 years, AmFund has distributed over $54 million to worthy organizations through its sponsorship of events and over $500K in unrestricted grants.

About the American Fundraising Foundation

Additionally, AmFund annually donates unrestricted funds known as Golden Pear Grants, to select organizations.


The Golden Pear, prominently part of AmFund’s logo, is deeply rooted in history as well as in its mission.Throughout history, even before the written word, the pear has been honored as a sacred fruit signifying wisdom, prosperity, good health, longevity, and future happiness – all the things Amfund seeks for its nonprofit partners.
